Last SMM lesson today!

Gonna be last SMM lesson! Gonna miss the whole project, the experience has truly been a memorable one. And i'm sure that this experience will give me an advantage as if in the future i need to do something similar, i would already have the knowledge to do it. Last smm lesson FTW.

Our project is ending...

Just one more week, and our project is officially comng to an end.. Although this whole project was not easy, we made through it, manage to endure till the end!(Although not really for whole group). but we did it! *CHEERS* I really want to thank Nabil for all that he had done, and also for taking over my role as team leader( Cause im not competent enough T.T). Thanks Nabil! And also tom and clement, for always supporting and contribuiting to his group and the whole project, i thank you from the bottom of my heart. We may have quarrel, but no matter through this project, our bond was strengthen, our promoting skills, braining storming skills and not to mention presentation skills has achieve a new level. ALl that is left is to showcase our worth during presentation this wednesday, lets all do our best! THANKS.

2nd August

So tonight I decided to break fast at JCube. Conveniently, I also had a meeting with the Marble Slab's manager on what to do for the remainder of this week. This would be the last week we do postings on the Marble Slab @JCube's Facebook page.

At this point, this is about trying to get even the littlest thing done for the page.

So I ended up talking to the manager, and 4 postings are scheduled to come up within the week up until 11th August. The first posting, the tasty creation posting was set up on Saturday, and I daresay that's the best response we've gotten for all our efforts in the page so far.

What is next, is on Wednesday night, a posting of a rather newer flavour of ice-cream that the Marble Slab @ Jcube had. This flavour, is the Kickapoo Ice Cream Flavour. So the manager allowed me to sample their Kickapoo Ice Cream Float. This is in relation to the Hari Raya Eidilfitri, and it's main colors Green and Gold/Yellow.

Yup, this majestic creation.

On thursday, a poster of cakes is meant to go up to relate to National Day that's right after Hari Raya. The slogan for that day? 'This National Day, come on down to Marble Slab @JCube and celebrate with us!'

The final posting would be on 10th/11th August, on about a 'Back2Work Monday'

We plan to highlight a product just for that day and to remind people of work, or to make it look more cheery.

31st July.

Not sure how much time we have left. (Probably less than a week)
I sent over the idea to the manager for what we plan to do this week along with some extra ideas.

Just received a very terrible news. The manager has decided not to work with us due to "changing business prospects". So apparently the posters that was made, changing of FB cover page, upcoming ideas, all just gone to waste. This was very sudden.

14th July

Alright, so we got the message from the manager. He cancelled working with us. Well, this is quite the predicament. First thing's first. Ask the teacher for help, and that's what we'll do.

Once we finally got to start with the increase in Facebook likes, we get shutdown and stopped in our tracks. I guess we'll have to see what happens next, huh?

At the very least though, we managed to finish 3 posters. (Superlicious Bonanza, Country Waffle poster 1 and Country Waffle Promotion). Provided the one for the Country Waffle Promotion wasnt used, but at the very least, we did get it done. Our work has been posted to the dropbox folder in which where we kept all our photos. So now, we wait for a response.

11th July

Now normally I'd spend my break time from 12-2 asleep in the hilltop library..

But today we decided to touch up on the Ramadan poster. We finally got conformation from the Manager, Mr. Ikwhan. The new idea is that we would merge the Ramadan Promotion with the country waffle promotion. The manager also asked Wilson for everyone's email address so we would all keep in the loop.

Now, once we post out the design for the poster on Facebook. It will invite all the Muslim fans of the page to enjoy the promotion when they break fast. The only problem is that due to merging the promotion, we would have to make poster differently, without a Ramadan theme. Although we decided to keep it green as a  rather discreet way of promoting Ramadan. (Green is good!)

Anyway, now in the library we're working on the posters. We plan to get it done by today, or if we're lucky before class. Wooooo. Never thought photoshop would be that fun.

We're also having another idea (Wilson came up with) we plan to discuss with the manager next meeting.
The idea would be that we post up a picture of a random product from the Marble Slab @ Jcube.
This idea is a based on an idea from other shops, where they giveaway their products for free if they could guess it. It would also be limited to the first few customers who guess it correctly. Example, we would photoshop a picture of say, a 'Tasty Creation', and the fans would have to guess exactly what flavour of 'Tasty Creation' it is. Judging by how successful this way on the other shop's FB page, we hope it would turn out successful as well.

Finally, we were able to meet the manager once again to discuss the promotions. So since ramadhan is around the corner, we decide to have a ramadhan promotions which is giving discount on the country waffles, instead of having it sold for at $13, it would be sold at $10. Secondly, marble slab is going to give out 250 vouchers of $8 worth of cakes. We've got lots of things to do!! better get started on the posters! :D

So today, My Group and I went to meet the Manager of marble slab to further discuss about the facebook post, upcoming Ramadan promotions! Today was a really fruitful day as we discuss with him about the things that we are going to do in the near future(1day from now LOL).

Firstly, we discuss about how we should change the banner(cover photo) for the Facebook page of Marbleslab @ Jcube as the current one has been here for 1year(*OMG*). So after a bit of discussion, we decided to change the banner to a certain promotion that is coming soon! I won't reveal the promotions so all you guys can do is to hold your horses and wait for it !Tom will be in charge for the banner!

 Secondly, we talk about the posting of the Ramadan promotion, which we have already prepared everything and all that left is to receive clearance from their master franchise and poof, the post will be up! Clement will be incharge of posting this promotion up!

Thirdly, We talk about the second posting of one of Marble Slab products! The first product being post is Country Waffles and the second product that will be posted up after the Ramadan promotion is up will be the *DRUM ROLL*! Superlicious Bonanza! The photos has already been edited by me and i will be the one in charge of posting this up!

Fouth, we talk about the promotion that will come right after the Ramadan Promotion which is another, conutry waffles for $10 deal! And this will last all the way until October!! *OMG YAY* *CHEERS* So be prepared for the various promotion coming right up.

Fifth, we talk about an unconfirmed promotion which we has started editing the photo for its but whether this promotion will be valid will have to depends so pray hard and wait! Cause if it become confirm, YOU GUYS ARE IN FOR THE TREAT! :D

Sixth, Nabil will be the one in charge of posting the notes that he has taken down during our meetins and also helping to ensure that all our post and pictures are of a high standard before we post it up! *CHEERS FOR NABIL* Of course i will also help with this too haha.

Thats all for today meeting! The meeting was a bit tiring but what makes it really enjoyable is what come afters the meeting, WE GOT TO TRY THEIR TASTY CREATION IN A BIG DIPPER! i still can't forget the taste of it <3_<3 You guys have got to try it!

10th July

So today we went to the Marble Slab to visit the manager once again, at around 4PM. We were still set on our original idea of the Ramadan promotion we intended to have for the company, which was the Country waffle's price being lowered down to 10$ from 13.80$.

However, when we met with the manager, he showed us what they did for last year's Ramadan, which was a buy 1 and get the 2nd product 50% off. We also needed to get clearance from the main branch first, and the promotion originally intended to be all day long, would have had to be cut down to 7-8:30PM on weekdays only. At the moment, we currently are holding off on this idea, instead, we have a list on things we plan to do for the Facebook page of Marble Slab.

2. A post to notify the FB page fans about a giveaway of 250 8$ cake vouchers (Done by Tom)
3. Ramadan Month (Which we are holding off on)
4. A promotion by the company (10$ for the Country Waffle from August 12th to October 31st)
5. Another promotion by the company (For every Pint of ice-cream bought, a free kiddy cup will be given)

We will be doing posters for 4, and 5. For 3, we have made a poster so far, but without confirmation, we are unable to post it. (Poster done by Clement)

As for No. 6, the tasty creation post, which we have just tried out today. We will post it after we've posted about the 5 scoops of icecream (or the Superlicious Bonanza) we tried the previous meetings before.

The superlicious post itself will be done by Wilson and be posted on Friday/Saturday

6th July

So yesterday we met up with the Marble Slab manager, and finally got hold of the facebook account for the Marble Slab @ Jcube. We also came up with a new idea, that the Country Waffle, as seen in the previous post, would be sold for 10$ instead of 13.80$ for the entire fasting month. We got clearance from the manager, and now by tomorrow, we'll try and come up with another poster before Monday where we will post up the 'Fasting Month Special!'. So far so good, we've gotten at least something done.

30th June, 2013.

As much as I hate to complain, im afraid we've been struck with more bad luck with the manager, and our inability to meet him due to complicated schedules. Tomorrow we plan to meet him, and to discuss about what we can immediately post up. Time is ticking, we realise that, it's only how we cope with it.

So far, we've already got a few ideas on what we can do.

With photoshop, we can make out posters of their products to be put on the Facebook page.

Perhaps not the most original idea, but it's at least an idea.

With his approval, we can then carry out our plan and hopefully save this project from going too downhill.

LONG NEEDED UPDATE!

Hello there blogspot. This update'll fill you in on everything that's happened so far with our contact with the Marble Slab @ Jcube.

So the first few weeks after we got our confirmation that we could work with the company. Right off the bat we thought of ideas that we could do for the company.

So for the next meeting, we came readily prepared. We just had to get clearance of the idea from the manager, Mr Ikhwan for us to hopefully get these ideas up and running. Not only that, but we also had to get the access to Marble Slab's admin access to start posting up ideas with facebook. As he tells us, he uses NorthSocial Apps as a way to help promote the Facebook page as well. So with that we got our plan ongoing, after the next meeting with the manager. Our plan being that mentioned in our timeline in the presentation we did, that we would start with Using the Deal Share App from NorthSocial on the Facebook page of Marble Slab.

The Country Waffle was just one of the few treats we were to write about for the Facebook posts.
A delicacy only matched by few, It definitely seduces the taste buds. Every bite is so delectably good.
It wasnt hard to see that we all agreed on one thing. 'OH MY GOD THAT WAS SOOOOO GOOOOD'.
So that concluded the meeting.

 However, he told us the next time we came, he would provide us with access to the facebook page. Unfortunately with exams, and the difficulty of getting in touch with him during the June holidays, we had trouble getting access to it. It was not until this week did we get a reply from Mr Ikhwan. We plan to meet him this Friday, (or if we're lucky, earlier) and get the access while discussing more plans with him. Hopefully then we can make good progress.

CONTACT MADE!!

So apparently, the reason why the manager has not been contacting us is because he has gone back to teaching and have been very busy during the school holidays. Once again we made contact with him and we decided that we're going to meet him more often so that we can catch up on the lost time. Yay we're going to be back on track.....sooon. ;p

NO CONTACT!!!

Before MST, we decided not to meet up with the manager as we needed to study for the exams. But after MST, our group leader kept trying to contact the manager but he wasn't replying. We couldn't do much during the holidays as we didn't have contact with the manager, the facebook account was not given to us yet. HOW THE %^&&* ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO OUR PROJECT!

Second meeting

On the second meeting, our group discuss with the manager on the different type of promotions that we can come up with. Since mothers day was coming up, we decided to touch on that topic. We thought of different promotions that we could not make up our minds. We also discussed on what would be posted to the marble slab facebook. Lastly, we were once again treated to a new product which is the country waffle. The waffle was very crispy, combined with the 3 scoops of ice cream on top, it was very delicious.

First meeting

Our first meeting with the marble slab manager was great. Before we were able to work with him, he interviewed us on how we can contribute to the company and why should he work with us. Eventually, after hearing all our answers, he decided that he would work with us :D and decided that we would meet once a week to discuss. After that, he treated us to one of the products which has 5 scoops of ice-cream :D

On our first meetingg with the Marble Slab manager, we first discuss about our roles and responsibilities and we talk to him about our team commitment and our ideas of how we are going to help to promote Marble Slab at jcube on facebook and other social multimedia website. We also talk about what we want to learn from this experience and how we want to learn the skills of promoting stores through social media by promoting his store!

After chatting with him, he decided to work with us and we went on to further discuss about our meetings date and what we are going to do to promote his store, and what we are going to learn from what we will be doing.

After the discussion, he graciously treat us to marble slab! OMG ITS WAS DELICIOUS! the taste is still lingering in my mouth until now! So im recommending anyone to try it! cause once you do, you won't be able to stop!

HAHA this meeting was very frutiful for us as we learn a lot from him and even get to eat such a delicious ice-cream! We hope to learn more from him in the subsequent meeting!
